Golden Leaf Spotlight on Contemporary Series: Joanne Rock

The annual NJRW “Put Your Heart in a Book” Conference is less than a month away! To help share our excitement, we’ll shine the spotlight on one of our Golden Leaf finalists each day until the conference.

The Golden Leaf is awarded annually for excellence in romance fiction by authors who are NJRW members or in Romance Writers of America (RWA) Region One.  Winners will be announced during the NJRW Put Your Heart in a Book Conference held October 18-19, 2013.

Spotlight on Contemporary Series: “Full Surrender,” by Joanne Rock (Harlequin)

She didn’t need to see his face even though he stood two stories above her on the ship deck. An officer in dress whites moved to the top of the ramp, the last man off the USS Brady. White wheel cap on his head and ribbons on his chest, he walked with more power and purpose than the laidback guitarist she’d met five years ago. Yet she somehow recognized the way he moved.

Or maybe she simply recognized a bolt of lightning when it hit her, just as it had so long ago. Her skin tingled. Her body froze. She doubted her ability to speak.

It was him.

The man—or the memory of him—who’d gotten her through hell and back even though he didn’t know it. Now, she needed one more favor from Danny Murphy, and it promised to be the most awkward request of her life.

Good luck to Joanne and all our Golden Leaf finalists!

And it’s not too late to register for the conference. Visit our website for more information.
